In my health coaching program, I embrace a multidimensional nutrition approach, also known as integrative nutrition, which recognizes that nutrition goes beyond just the food we eat; it encompasses multiple factors that influence our overall well-being. Our dietary choices are influenced by various factors, many of which are often automated:
Habits: Eating patterns can become routine, stemming from cultural upbringing, family traditions, or environmental cues that support or hinder health.
Movement: Regular physical activity is essential for maintaining health and supports positive dietary choices.
· Environmental influences: Social influences play a significant role in shaping food preferences, dietary restrictions, and the communal aspects of eating.
· Limiting Beliefs and Unconscious Processes: Limiting beliefs are deep-seated convictions about ourselves and the world that restrict our potential and behavior. Recognizing and addressing these beliefs allows us to uncover and replace them with empowering perspectives, opening doors to new possibilities, increased self-confidence, and choices that align with our true desires.
